Our Family Tree?

Our Family Tree?

My Granddaughter, Grace, and I visited the Sanilac Petroglyphs in June, 2009, and found this huge white pine along the trail.  It is quite symbolic for our new family tree blog site!  Of course, I am quite a tree lover anyway.  For 20 years I worked for the Lapeer Conservation District and one of my jobs was the District’s annual tree sale.  Each spring we would sell about 25,000 little white pine seedlings to landowners in the county.  I learned a lot about trees working at that job….an appreciation that I hope to pass on to my grandchildren.
Researching our Streu Family Tree is a lesson in appreciation, also.  The names, dates, places, etc are there, but it is the pictures and personal stories that make a family tree come to life.  Michelle and hope that through this family blog our family tree will “sprout some leaves” and “strengthen it’s roots”!
